August in a nutshell

Ok, ok, I'll do my best to capture August tonight seeing as though the calendar just rolled into October. Really, where does the time go? October? Really? That's Fall. I'm still in Summer. I'm certainly not ready for that nasty white stuff that falls from the sky and sticks to the ground and makes me shiver. No thank you. I think I'll migrate south. Well, buckle up and hold on...here comes August!!!

I forgot to bring the camera so these pictures are from my phone. I can't get them off my phone, so I took a picture of the picture on my phone!! Daniel survived just fine in spite of all the attention. His finger healed very quickly. He could even do his jobs the next day :)

Peter turned 12 on August 17! He was my latest baby (until Ethan). He was due the 8th. However, he was also born fairly quickly and without a lot of trouble. Enjoy your last year of not being a teen, Peter :)

More presents, more nosy siblings!

Rachel and Sarah (and sometimes Andrew) love to gather cicada skins. It's really gross, but it's science, right?!?! Rachel wanted a picture with this guy.

Tom had the boys make a walkway in the front yard. It's still not quite done, but almost. It seems like it's always something. We ran out of sand, not enough stones, too hot, too cold, too wet, etc. I really hope it gets finished before the snow! By the way, we also planted grass where you see dirt. It came in fairly well. We'll probably have to touch it up in the Spring, but it's great for now :)

The girls found this bee on the back of a cicada! This was really neat, I have to admit. I never did figure out who captured who, but they ended up flying away like this. I'm assuming the bee won.

Ethan reading and not wanting his picture taken :)

HA! I caught him peeking! !

Well, I almost made it. I have one more set of pictures from a trip to the park with the girls, Ethan, and Emily Burtt. I'll post those soon and then do September's pictures. I have a lot of good ones from that wonderful month. It's a great month to have a birthday :)
