Locks of Love

Rachel has been wanting to donate her hair for a very long time. Dad finally decided to give in (!). Actually, we measured her hair and thought it would be fine. The minimum donation length is 10 inches and we wanted her hair to still be 'long' after it was cut. She was so excited to have Tabitha come over and cut it.

Rachel AFTER--even more smiles :)
10 inches! Dad and Mom have recovered from the heart attack,
knowing that her hair WILL grow again :)

One more rainfall this month

On Friday, July 27, in the afternoon, we had one more time of rain. I took the 4 'little' people outside with the intention of going around the block. Just when we were ready, the storm whistle, horn thing blew. I decided to wait a minute and see what was going on. In about 5-10 minutes, the wind started to blow (thankfully, it was very warm and sticky and still) and it got dark. We had thunder and lightening and finally a downpour :) It wasn't terribly long, but it was so nice. The temperature dropped and the kids played in the rain (after the lightning stopped, of course!). We were able to get some pictures before the rain, during the rain, and even after the rain!!

Haven was so cute with this umbrella. (The umbrella was in a neighbor's freebie box and, of course, my kids saw it and thought that since it was free, we needed it. Well, I found out why it was free...there is a hole in the top of it :) At least, we got some cute pictures with it.)

(I love the last 2 pictures!)

I saw Haven's crocs sitting there and decided to take some pictures...

More crocs and cool photo effects

Some extra notes (no pictures, but things I want to remember). Peter, Andrew, and Sarah were baptized on Sunday, July 29. Also, my Grandma Horning, almost 95, passed away the same day. The funeral is on Friday, August 3. She will definitely be missed very much. I only have one grandparent left.

Well, it's August now...

A few NBT pictures

This year, Nathan and Daniel were in the skit. Nathan helped with one of the 4th-6th grade classes. Daniel helped with game time. Peter was able to help with the bank and the penny parade. They all seemed to have a great time. Andrew, Sarah, Rachel, and Ethan all participated in NBT and loved every minute. All 4 of them came in 1st place for their class. Andrew, Sarah, and Rachel said something like 50, 65, and 35 verses! They worked so hard during the week... we are very proud of them :)

Swimming at the Woodbury's

We've spent many hours at the pool this summer. Mainly, it has been Tom taking the kids while I stay home with Haven. It works out nicely for me because it's during her nap time. Tom and the kids leave, Haven sleeps, and I get quiet, alone time :) This time, we took Haven and she seemed to enjoy herself.
